89-year-old dies after driving off dock

PELICAN -- Alaska State Troopers are investigating a drowning at Pelican in Southeast Alaska.

Troopers say 89-year-old John Howard Clausen drove an ATV with an enclosed cab off the dock Thursday, and it sank in 38 feet of water.

Clauson was unresponsive when he was recovered by a diver.

Pelican is on Chichagof Island about 100 miles west of Juneau.
